Jyn Arro is an online content creator, visual artist, writer and poetess. She began her online journey in 2013 and has since found an outlet for her creative voice through the production of digital material.
Born in Phoenix, Arizona, Jyn currently spends the majority of the year living in Los Angeles, California as a student attending the University of Southern California’s prestigious School of Cinematic Arts. She is a prospective Bachelor of Arts 2020 graduate and majors in Media Arts and Practice, a new and innovative interdisciplinary program.
Jyn has delved into photography, videography, photo/video editing, digital illustration, theoretical and practical media studies, and more. Her experiences and interactions with the arts and technology serve as constant inspiration for her endeavors and projects.
Maintaining a sound body and mind have also become focal points of great importance due to her past struggles with depression and anxiety. Specifically, she wishes to share her experience as a way of encouraging and providing help to others battling with their own mental health issues and normalizing conversations about such topics. She is a huge advocate for self-love, self-awareness, and self-esteem. Specifically, she wants to play her part in encouraging womxn and femmes to embrace themselves and claim their power within a world that profits off of their insecurities and self-doubt.
Intertwined with all of her experiences and areas of interest is her fascination with theology and alternative spiritual practices. Jyn believes that everyone has faith in something, even if that faith is in the power of the self, and that there is knowledge and tolerance to be gained through the study of diverse beliefs.
Most of her time is dedicated to her studies at SCA; as well as, in cultivating an online presence that can serve as both a portfolio and journal.
